Hi guys,
lue shield
For the last two days Ive been working on making this in Illustrator

http://www.jcea-cea.org/images/8.%20UEP%20logo.gif

Try as I may, I simply cannot proportionaly create the blue triangle shield part of the logo. I am so sorry for asking this...but could somebody help me out here. All I need is the blue part. Ive been trying to do this with the arc tool, and than that didnt work. Next I trien Reflect command and the sides didnt come out even.

Please, Please.

Hi there...

Two words: PEN TOOL....;)

Use the pen tool to make the arcs just like the ones on your logo. You may see how to use the pen tool by pressing F1 on the Illustrator. It is not hard at all...:P

I have to agree, though learning the pen tool can be a ridiculously dificult feat to accomplish, really, it's the only way.

Scan your image for use as a template and bring it into illustrator. Open your image in illustrator, lock your layer, and create a new one. In the ne layer bring down a horizontal guide to the two bottow corners of your object. Draw an oversize ellipse an align the bottom arc with the bottom of your object EXACTLY. Manipulate your ellipse with the black arrow and scaling. When perfect, use the scissor to cut the path of the ellipse where the base meets the guides. Select this new bottom piece and juding by the object box, bring a horizontal guide to the center of the object. Control/Apple C (copy) and Cont/App V paste object. Use the black arrow and rotate tool to place one side in place. Copy and reflect other side. Zoom in on HIGH magnification and align. Yer done.
