Does anyone know of a good way to print an entire swatch library (such as the Pantone swatch libraries included in Adobe's Pre-sets directory) directly from the palette?
Meaning, say in Illustrator, you have opened the swatch library (Window menu > Swatch Libraries > PANTONE...) and you want to see what it will look like printed on paper, but you don't want to spend time having to create actual shapes on the illustrator artboard and filling each one in with a color from the library.
We are trying to compare how acceptable our printouts will be compared to the original PANTONE chip and calibrate our printers accordingly.
It’s a hack, but how about doing a print screen of the palette.
With the palette window open and resized to see all color swatches (Select large thumbs, or resize later). In windows its Alt-PrtScr with the window you want to grab as the active window. In Illustrator New, Paste, Crop, Resize and Print.
Press Command+Shift+4+space. A camera will appear and you can move it over different windows to select whichever window you want. The image will appear on the hard drive as picture 1 etc.
