Greetings everyone,
I recently started experimenting with Flash again (using Flash MX), and as before, a problem revealed itself. Whenever I import a graphic file into flash, I do so directly to the library. I then adjust it's properties, such as making sure that it isn't smoothed out, & also making sure it's being displayed in it's native format.
Now, as most of you already know, if those steps were left out, a strip of pixels somwehere within the image itself would sortof "merge", creating a very ugly effect. Once those steps were done however, that problem went away, however another took it's place. The borders of images would now appear blurred, as if the last strip of pixels were stretched across 2 rows or columns.
I imagine that in order to clear this problem, one would have to put a buffer of several blank pixels between it and the edge. Personally I don't think it's such an elegant solution, but since I am new to Flash, I was wondering whether there's another way of solving this problem?
Thanks for any responses.

Thanks for the response, appreciate it.
I can't remember whether I encountered this problem with JPGs & GIFs, but I did with PNG file formats.
The blurred edge would only appear on one side though, and it stays there no matter where I place the graphic element.
Yesterday I created my very first flash menu, and saw the same problem on one of my menu items. Turns out, the very last letter extended to the edge of the graphic, but instead of blurring it across 2 pixel colums, it disappeared entirelly. So the effect was that part of the image seemed cropped.
When I imported a new image to replace the broken menu item, I made sure it had several blank pixels to act as a buffer. And it worked like a charm.
Here's a link to show you what I mean, the graphic in question is the last letter of "Pricings":
http://www.zirconium-designs.com/test.html
The blurrings can be seen in the light-colored dotted border on the right. It's 2 pixels wide, when it should be just 1. The line is actually two of the same graphic element, the joining can be seen right besides the "Pricings" logo as a darkish bit.
I'll have to buffer that later on if there's no solution to this .

ah... i remember i faced this problem once
all i did was i copy and paste the image to new layer and delete the previous layer... sometimes i also face this problem in photoshop which is caused by the anti-aliasing images... the blur will stay and what makes it worse... it can't be deleted by using eraser, i use the same technique to slove it

| Oh, ok so the technique you use is to also utilize pixel bufferings?
