Review:
Vecta3D Standalone is a slimmed down version of Vecta3D Max that can be used for creating simple rotating 3D Flash objects. It supports extrusion of imported vector objects, and can render them with 3D lighting.
I purchased this program when it was first offered and found it to be, very possibly, the worst application I've ever used...and I've encountered a bunch of bad ones since purchasing my first TRS-80. :)
From the kludgy interface, which I've never had load properly, to the paucity of help...this is, very definitely, an application to avoid...even if offered as freeware.
The abundant bugs and terrible rendering artifacts made me give up on this program after a few days. The rendered illustrations were messy and produced incredibly large files that were useless for Flash without a lot of clean up work. After spending many tedious hours trying to get a single (although somewhat complex) spinning logo finished I actually DID delete it and demand my money back (and got it). Since then I have invested in the Swift 3D Lightwave plugin and the difference is night and day. If you are a professional don't waste your money on this toy.
I am sorry to say that this program is not even worth the same asking price of less that $60.00. The company website is slick but useless for information and the help file is a tutorial for the newest newbie. I am encountering an error trying to import .AI and .EPS files and can't find any documentation to assist me. If I could, I would gladly get a refund and delete the program.
