With Paint Shop Pro, you can get most of Adobe Photoshop's power for a fraction of its price. Paint Shop Pro has come a long way since its inception as an image viewer and converter. Image-editing tools were added in version 3 and layer support in version 5. Since then several new features have found their places in the program including vector and text tools, and adjustment layers. Paint Shop Pro has many features including multiple level undo/redo, batch file format conversion, a thumbnail browser, and a variety of special effects. It supports image slicing, image optimization, and rollovers for the web, and also provides digital photography tools such as red-eye and scratch removal. Furthermore, Animation Shop, a powerful GIF animation program comes free with the program.
