The guide is fantastic for intermediate user and will be bad for beginners.

Sounds nice but if it were that easy then why did not you provide sample tags and the xml file and the TLD and all the other stuff required to make it work

I think this is the right way to show new technology: By showing alternative ways and why they are inferior.

Alas!:

-1- The naming seems to be inconsistent.

From example 2 one can see that the bean's class name is "ourData" with a "getTheText" method.

Example 3 seems to use a bean called "getData" with a "getTheText" method.

Example 3b seems to use a bean called "tableTag" with "columnOneText" and "columnTwoText" methods.

-2- I could not find the evolution of the bean code.
