Moving right along. There is a small brass beveled shape that comes next.
Create a small rectangle about 68 by 8 pixels and taper the sides and drag the bottom to make a subtle curve as you can see in the greatly enlarged image. Zoom in close and apply a 5-color Linear Fill using the colors shown on the magnified detail. Angle the fill path arrow to give the fill a slight angle. And place colors 3 and 4 close to one another.
We'll create a highlight for the brass object using two duplicates. Use one of the duplicates (shown in red) to trim out a section about one quarter of the length of the brass shape.
Apply a Flat pale yellow fill and then apply a Linear Transparency.
Position the highlight over the brass shape.
At the very bottom is a small lead rounded bead.
Create a 30 pixel circle and apply a two-color fill using the colors shown.
Use a rectangle that is wider than the circle to trim off the top two thirds of the circle using the Combine Shapes > Subtract Shapes command found in the Arrange menu.
Save your drawing and take a break.
Last we will create the threads. If you have gotten this far, I'm confident you will get though these last few steps.
Draw a 140 by 18 pixel rectangle. Apply a Corner Curvature of 0.85.
Vertically center a straight horizontal line, select the line and the rectangle and Arrange > Combine Shapes > Slice Shapes.
Apply a 2-color Elliptical Fill to the top shape. Extend the fill path arrows as shown and move the center of the fill to the left of center.
Apply a two color elliptical fill to the bottom shape using the same position as the top but using the two warm gray colors shown.
Just a few more highlights and reflections and we'll be done.
