Volume
    A fixed amount of storage on a storage medium. There are three possibilities with volumes:
    1. The whole storage medium such as a floppy disk may be called a volume.
    2. Any storage medium can have more than one volume (e.g. different partitions of a hard disk)
    3. A volume can span multiple disks. Archivers such as ARJ and PKZIP can store compressed information in multiple volumes and span them multiple disks.
