Our comments: The deceptively simple looking interface is actually well thought out and full of many interesting features. For example, the portfolio section is probably the most elaborate one we have ever seen. Yes, all those filtering and custom view options that are nicely hidden at the bottom may be overkill for a 7-item portfolio (at the time of review), but still they may come handy for a crowded future portfolio. On the other hand, the tiny icons are not very informative with the sole exception of the ubiquitous Flash icon. Finally, by cleverly utilizing inline frames Young achieved the feeling of a 100% Flash design: new content can appear without having to refresh the entire page. But unlike Flash, there is no sacrificed back-forward navigation.
As a client of Protoculture, I agree fully with this review. Young's design is extremely advanced yet simple in appearance and simple to use, with a "flash" kind of look with all the benefits of HTML (benefits like better search engine placement, back/forward capabilities, faster loading times, etc). I would highly recommend Protoculture's services to anyone. For our company, he has helped us gain recognition as one of the top snowboard company websites.
