Designer's words: The Aprisa Web Team consists of Scott Scheirmann (web developer), Bill Franz (web designer), Fernando Munoz (art director), Robbie Hyman (editor) and Danielle Perkins (manager).
Our comments: Aprisa is a solution provider in the electronics industry, and its web site is certainly unique in its presentation of customer testimonials. Rather than quoting a line or two from a person of some company that might be vaguely familiar to you, Aprisa decided to use anonymous illustrated characters that offer you their "perspectives" in their areas of expertise such as engineering and sales. The perspectives are context-sensitive and are shown in a draggable DHTML window that occassionally pops up while browsing the site. You can also toggle the display of perspectives by clicking on the eye icon located in the top right corner of the site. Graphics-wise, the design can be considered neutral because of the light-gray color scheme. On the other hand, MacOS aqua style translucent orbs are liberally used throughout the site as icons, product spotlights, or parts of colorful illustrations.
It is a very nice layout. I personally like the layouts which don't actually have "sections" to the interface. The site sections fold over each other, and have no direct boundaries. Hard to explain, but hope you understand.
The only problem I see is the main menu. I am not positive, but I really don't think that it will work very well, if at all in older browsers. There are still plenty of surfers using Netscape 4.0, so as a web designer, you should support it or provide alternatives.
Keep in mind, I do not have netscape 4.0 so cannot guarantee that it will not work.
