Designer's words: The website is completely database driven, by a combination of PHP and MySQL. The web-site uses decoy files that call unique php files. These files look at the path of the file and search the database for texts, portfolio items and lists pertinent to that path. This was done primarly to convince the search engines to index the whole site and to have an easily to update web-site.
Also, the header and the footer are javascript-cached, which means that, the newer browsers don't load the header and footer, they just execute javascript functions from a js file already loaded that display the header and footer.
Our comments: The Amorphys Design web site is one of the best examples of a successful marriage between Flash and HTML. JavaScript is used to trigger Flash-based pop-up menus and "tooltips" that appear in the large area allocated to the near broadcast-quality Flash movies. An interesting aspect of the pop-up menus is that sub-menus appear inside the parent menu but their background color is darker than that of the parent. Amorphys scores high on the usability side as well: Back & forward buttons work thanks to the clever JavaScript-Flash integration, the design fits very nicely to 640x480 for legacy system users, the last open menu appears again a few seconds after entering a new page, the small shortcut tabs below the Flash movies provide one-click access to company's key services, and finally there is even a sitemap. Note: Flash movies used in this design are processor-intensive, and may slow down your system considerably.
Design is very clean and the Flash headings are excellent. I use 1024x768, and text was ok on my screen. However, I do see how it would get hard to read at larger resolutions. The only little dislike I had was the top menu, it's not always responsive.
