Our comments: BrainJar.com offers insightful articles and tutorials about web development, specifically DHTML, JavaScript, ASP, and Java. Many of the sites offering similar content have bland designs, and this is putting it mildly. But Mike Hall, the person behind BrainJar.com definitely knows how a clean, no-nonsense design should look like. The colors he chose not only please the eye but also enhances the readability of the text. The site design can be changed on-the fly from Home > Customize, and you will feel like you are changing your desktop theme as the background graphic, all the colors, fonts, and even the site logo change. The only downside is that you cannot access the pop-up menus from sub-pages.
Very nice website. Very simplistic in the design, yet gets their word across.
One thing I wouldn't of done would be the Arial font. Arial is boring, I would of used Verdana or Tahoma. But I think they pull it off very well.
The Javascript menu might cause problems on some platforms, but probably does more good than bad. It is very natural, and is easy to figure out how to use since it is native in many conventional operating systems and browsers.
Another thing I would of liked to see is a navigation device throughout every page on the site. Having to go back to the home page is a bit of a drag in some instances.
