Drawing inspiration from popular Nintendo games such as Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Pokémon, Blast Radius developed a new visual interface, interactive content, navigation, and community features with the objective of establishing Nintendo.com as the trusted source of information for Nintendo fans.

Our comments:
The appearance of the purple and almost square design of the homepage closely resembles the contours of Nintendo's latest console GameCube. Almost all the sections of the site use the same template but sometimes in different colors. Hardly any space is wasted thanks to the carefully designed page layout. Abundant use of pixel fonts and anti-aliased lo-res icons of the past is balanced with just the right amount of colorful 3d-rendered game characters of today yet the retro look is dominant. Blast Radius did an excellent job to integrate the public image of Nintendo into the heart of the design -- not a small feat considering the role of the company in creating numerous pop-culture icons so many people has grown up with.
