Designer's words: The Danish cult band from the 80's, Laid Back, approached In2media with the desire to represent their brand in the digital world. By doing so, they would give the users the chance of hearing their old songs and seeing Laid Back's music videos once again.
In2media decided to fuse Laid Back's sound from the 80's with their digital presence. A classic reel-to-reel tape recorder, an "old school" television set, and a mixer were the main ingredients in the image. These ingredients were integrated into the website, allowing the user to listen to the sound of old Laid Back vinyl, to mix different songs, and to see the music videos again. The content, therefore, encouraged a great amount of interactivity between users and the digital world and thereby stimulated a high level of user involvement.
The graphic appearance is fun with a twist of kitsch that leads the target group's thoughts back to the 80's. This approach helps Laid Back's brand and music to be authentically realized in the digital world.
Our comments: The design borrows interface elements from the GUIs of 80's legendary computers namely the Amiga and Macintosh, and improves on them with fun additions such as the ultra-interactive folders. Heavy pixelation awaits you. 100% Flash.
