Our comments: Viper is an annual international festival for film, video and new media that takes place in Switzerland. The festival's web site design uses crisp vector-based icons for navigation, which are perfectly suited to the job. On the technical side, the design combines almost all available web technologies: Flash is only used on the homepage to eliminate unnecessary rollover downloading overhead, and to display smooth animations. On sub pages, DHTML is used to scroll content complete with a scroll bar, and frames keep the interface on screen at all times while allowing the content part to use the whole browser window. The designers cleverly solved frames' disadvantages by using different frame sets for each page.
