Our comments: Altered Pixel is ultra-productive designer Angela Rohner's web design studio. By using posterized photos and lowering the saturation of the colors, Rohner created a striking image for her studio. The clear-cut, rectangular page layout poses a nice contrast to the soft and cold imagery.
The use of pale, earthtone colors is very attractive - it draws attention to the layout immediately. The picture used is simplistic and pixilation makes it unique. The use of squares and boxiness is essential for this type of piece and she does so brilliantly.
I really like the use of colours. I think telling the user exactly on which page he is was particularly important to the designer. It seems more that she wanted to give the viewer a feel to the website.
I like the blurry background especially the black email form built into the chair.
I don't know how well the website would do for visually impaired people. Bobby (bobby.watchfire.com) comes up with some disadvantages for disabled people when I run it.
Other than that it is a pretty design - simple, but not overloaded and trying.
When I first went to the page, I wondered what Altered Pixels did. They do not state what they do or what they can offer, especially being a design firm. It focuses too much on what awards and articles she has written. These should be listed but not that much...
