Our comments:
Yves Allaire is a digital artist, and one of his strengths is creating high quality textures particularly for Quake 3. Allaire combined highly detailed, symmetrical textures to create the giant title and the menu bar on his web site. Also worth mentioning is his custom designed horizontal rulers, which are used to separate news items.
