The web site of getacard.com, an online greeting card retailer, features an elegant interface whose parts are seamlessly blended together with gentle drop shadows. The design has a remarkable balance between eye-catching graphics and good usability: The 3-step card sending process is displayed on every page, and redundant links are used to guide first timers. For example on the Everyday cards section, the categories are displayed as a bulleted list while random card thumbnails belonging to popular categories (in this case birthday, hello/keeping in touch, and thank you) are displayed on the same page. The diverse array of fonts (including pixel fonts) used in the design is worth mentioning as well. Although at least five different fonts are used for rendering text on most pages, the fonts do not have an overwhelming effect; they actually prolong the life of the design.
