Designer's words: The site must be viewed in Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. The entire site was created on an ASP back-bone and databases with a full-flash interface and introduction. Please be patient as the site loads, for it contains flash and high-quality graphical files. Thank you.
Our comments: Very impressive Flash-DHTML hybrid with draggable transparent windows (tables) made possible by IE styles. Uses a simple custom context menu with icons. Different soundloops can be selected via the main menu.
Graphics are very nice. The effects on the 'G' are really good, and creative.
A suggestion would be to remove the black background, and replace with a dark blue maybe? Also, the navigation side needs some sort of top image or something to round it up together.
I personally feel that this is one of the best sites that I have ever visited. It's seamless usage of ASP/DHTML/CSS/Client side script never ceases to wow me. I believe it does a good job of showing a probable client it's company's mission, to integrate different technologies into an origonal web site. This is no MS FrontPage generated wysiwyg site... It's obvious that this person put a lot of effort into making his site an origonal work of art to wow probable customers.
It's major downfall is the full screen popup at 800x600 resolution, which can be dealt with because of it's handy little "Close CI Interface" button. If anything else is limiting this site's full potential it's TOO MUCH eyecandy, which I for one like, but to the older visitor that just wants the info, this might get annoying. Other than that, it's a great site.
+ not too bad use of flash
+ impressive array of technical capabilities
+ explanation of navigation is nice touch
+ makes solid first impression
- however, when you look further than the cosmetic surface, you see that the layout is poor and often out of balance or badly structured because of the huge amount of info
- the interface is simply too crowded (see bottom of interface as example)
- too much information is thrown at the visitor at once
(take for example the websites section. 1.) big navigation bar 2.) track list 3.) vertical and thus badly readable title 4.) vertical scroller 5.) images 6.) text 7.) bottom bar with scroller.) All cramped in a space too small for so much info. This site communicates badly simply because the viewer doesn't know where to look first. Give information breathing space guys!
- poor typography
- information + techno overload to impress prospect? does that still work these days?
