Our comments: Habbo Hotel is a showcase of Sulake's proprietary technology that enables Shockwave developers to create "spatial net-communities". The isometric graphics used throughout the site feature beautiful lighting effects many other isometric site designs lack.
it could look much better and i wish that credits didnt cost or at least you got a few free. they say that if you compete in a contest you get 2 free bull $hit. its ok coke isnt ne better is there nething better out there plz let me know
the hackers and scripters dont bother me as long as you are nice to everyone or atleast dont piss anyone off then your fine and people that scam dont bother me if you try to scam me your off my list and i report you as easy as that. and i think anyone that give this game a bad rep cause of that is a cry baby and the coins aint so bad spending money for this game as some think is "a waist" well you buy like ps2 and xbox or somthing like that games well this is a game too we are just "buying" it in a way we pay 2 play i think we pay to make it way more enjoy able cause i think if you dont ahve furni you wont find the fun in the game like the people with furni does
Habbo Hotel is a brilliant website well layed out and easy to use.
The tech experts and advice is lacking and dosnt help much but the people are friendly enough to ask!
Yes the credits are expensive and there are scammers out to get you but as long as you never give details out (because of greed) you will be fine!
It looked cool when i first saw it.I played it for a couple months. Then I started noticing hackers, scripters, etc.starting to take over habbo hotel.I first realized how bad secruity on that site was.The hobbas(moderators)never show up.The credits are too expensieve. The site starting fallin apart. Also nothing new happend it just was the same.I reccomend visiting this site for a while, but after a while it's going to get old.
habbohotel one of my all time favorite sites to go on but even though the past couple of months habbohotel has been getting better I still don't think it is at it's best they can do way better many different things like a telephone in each room to call for pizza or one of your friends to check if they are at there room.
habbohotel is still a good site but i still think that the credits are very expencive.
Habbo Hotel is a virtual hotel but is the best thing I have played on the internet. As I can meet all my friends there and I can go to there rooms and chat and other things my reccomendation is it's the best.
10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I personally think that habbo hotel is the greatest community on the web,it is the only site of its kind!
Me and my mates can sit in a room together, and live hundreds of miles away!
This is the first time ive been away from it in months.Above pearl said it takes too long to load, thats because his\her computer is to slow,i have a broadband connection and i think its quite speedy!
When Juanathanb052289 said that that the web site was full of 'hackers' and 'scammers' it is not true. This was when the web site was ran by ione (i-oo-nee) now it has been improved greatly and 'hackers and 'scammers' will be banned and even taken to court. The new 'beta' version as it has been called is better and now run by a new manager jibbi. The down side to the web site is it is more popular now which means it gets quite full. Avoid going on the site in the UK till about 9.30 or 10.00pm thats when people leave the site. If you join the habbo club when the site is full you can skip the que and you get cool furni!
I've been a member of Habbo Hotel for more than 2 years now and really love it. It was nicer still a while back when not that many people chatted in there. Nowadays it's sometimes hard to get inside the rooms you want to enter. Though I also have my own apartment there where I can relax after a stressy day at least. Haha. I also like the gaming rooms, especially battleships. It's so much fun. I mostly don't go there to chat, but just to explore. Also the programming job they've done at that website is just amazing! The intuitive way the people find their way through the room. I like also the graphics. I really envy these people for this project. I can't think of any other better comparable project. Habbo Hotel is THE site online.
I've been playing this site for quite a while now, almost when it started in 2001. I also got my friends into it too... Its very addicting to play, especially when you are BORED. The only thing I dislike is that credits are cheaper in the UK than in the United States, which stinks. Anyways, I reccommend people to play this, because its just plain, FUN :]
I love this site. As cutek!tten i also find myself addicted to this amazing site. I love the fact you can make your own little person and talk to other people around the world. Its irratating how you have to buy credits cuz I live in the U.S and have to make money orders. Im amazed... these people must be abseloutly rich. Getting BIG cash everyday by hundreds of people just to get "fake" furni. How good does that sound?
Habbo Hotel :D i love it! I joined when a friend told me about it years ago and since then i have been addicted. Ok, the problem we all hate is the fact we have 2 buy credits using real money but hey, they have 2 run a business somehow! Nevertheless, i do agree they could be cheaper. It used to be sooo anooying when the "disconnected please reload habbo hotel" sign came up but now with the new improved version it hardly EVER happens with is gr8! They also have habbos called "moderators" who help habbos in need however you must be 16 years or older for this:( thts another 3 years w8ing for me then! On thw whole habbo is gr8 but if you dont like the sound of spending real money DONT go on!!!!!! You'll soon be addicted like me and will be owing money left right and centre.
I think this is an exellent site and I think you should try it one day.The only thing I dont like about it is when you get the credits (habbo money) you have to buy it with real money.
I think that Habbo Hotel is kinda cool, you can meet up with friends and visit different rooms and allsorts. You can make ya own room but to buy things you need to either get furniture off friends through a trade window or buy credits to buy furni. I would recommend www.cokemusic.com instead, it is very much similair to habbo hotel but you can earn decibals which are the same as credits and you get 5000 free when you sign up also you can play on quizzes and do polls to get decibals too.
Habbo Hotel has gotten MUCH better ever since the beta version, they have even updated the site, now theres camreas, new furniture, trade options, and much more! its the best site i have ever found!! my mom pays me credits for each good grade i get and for chores :) my habbo name is shnoopie.
habbo is a great website but there are loads of problems. There are hackers, they're every where. they try to steal your 'furni' and credits.
The graphics are very good, and it loads really quickly, which is a good thing because it takes a lot of attemtps to log in, it keeps saying 'disconnected! please reload the habbo hotel', It took me 40 trys to log in last night, no joke.
People who beg for furni are really annoying. Though, I agree it could have more colours
This site is awesome however there is a ton of scammers lurking around trying to take your "furni" there is some errors on the site that they need to take care of, most of the time when you try to long in it says "disconnected". And credits cost money...go check this site out. My username is chubness if you would like to speak to me.
Habbo Hotel is one of the best chats I have found. I love that you don't have to download anything and the isometric graphics are wonderful! I think the credit system is neat because instead of paying for the chat all you have to do it pay to get credits (which you need if you want to dive into the pool or buy furniture for your room) I think it gets a little boring after a while.. but doesn't everything?
I like to go on habbohotel quite a lot and enjoy looking at all the interesting rooms e.t.c. I think its a good site but there are a few problems which could do with fixing. I think that sometimes it loads quite slow and you get disconnected for no reason which can be quite annoying. You also have to pay for credits although a few days ago they were giving out free credits because it was the hotel manager's birthday. I think overall it is a really good site and the designers have done well on making it. I hope they continue to improve on the site and get even more rooms up and running.
To Bubbsy: dobedo, may it rest in peace (dead since fall 2001) actually had moderators. An own police force, and users and staff with so called "zap wands" that made people silent.
I worked there as a substitute community manager last summer actually. The safety rules where more of guidelines like: "don't tell people where you live", "don't go on dates alone with people you met in the chat" etc.
If we wanted we could terminate users accounts, even though we didn't use that power frequently.
Maybe becase the chat was for ages 16 and up and we hoped that people could take care of them selves.

I think it's great. It's pixel art at it's finest. For those who think "virtual reality" is a possibility, get real. Do you have any idea how many people are connecting with slow dialup modems? The credit system is just fine with me. I just ordered 284 =-P. Stop complaining and enjoy the game, it's free after all.
This site is mainly for teens in the UK. It has good graphics, but the technical support is extremely bad. There are ALWAYS hackers and scammers trying to steal things from you. And the worst part is that habbo does practically nothing about this... the problem is also that many times habbo shuts down temporarily without you noticed. Many times, a popup saying "disconnected - please reload" is extremely annoying when you have to relogin, which takes a long time by the way. Also, it is hard to message other users since you have to be their "friend". But then the good part is that you can virtually move around and have bubbles pop up when you talk. The most important thing to remember is that this is a VIRTUAL site, not something serious where you spend real money trying to collect credits...
Great design, old-skool in a good way. There seems to be a lot of people complaining about the credits system in here, how else do you expect them to make a bit of money? would you prefer annoying ads? Its not like they're expensive anyway, and if you live outside the UK then tuff - if you're not willing to put the effort into posting away for them then quit moaning, its as simple as that.
Also its getting a bit annoying now because of the constant stream of people shouting "GIVE ME FURNI", "GIVE ME CREDITS" etc... then they complain when you dont give them anything? - do you give the average stranger money if they ask you for it? NO. So again, quit moaning :)
Slowly habbo hotel is getting worse and worse in terms of its userbase and overall usability... the site is unbearably slow at times, often you are unable to log on at all.
What has confused me though is people complaining about loading times... sorry, but I dont notice any loading time at all and no, im not on broadband. It takes about 10 seconds for habbo to get to the login screen at a good early time in the morning, maybe 15 or so at peak hours. After that its only like a 5-10 second wait between changing rooms anyway.
Anyway, its a great idea thats slowly being ruined by its dumba** users :)... me included :P.
I actually work for Habbo LTD as an Assistant. The first intention Sulake had in mind when they were creating the Habbo enviroment was SPEED. There are many chat services that take a long time to load because of the High Graphics, Habbo uses Pixel art which doesn't take as long to load.
Take http://www.cybertown.com for example. It has super high graphics but takes an awful long time to load, habbo only takes a few minutes. The registration is straight forward asking only for important information unlike other chat rooms which require, Home addresses, Telephone numbers etc. Habbo only requires House addresses if you apply to become a hobba ( moderator ).
Many people think credits are a rip off, but actually they aren't, habbo offers lots of features like, the ability to Swim and Eat in rooms, so we decided to keep the service free, but charge for other features aka Private rooms. A basic private room costs up to 20-30 credits which is only £2 - £3. Where as we take http://www.vzones.com who charge to use the whole chat service which i class as a rip off.
One habbo credit costs 10p, which is 16 cents and 0.6 euros. Which you must admit is pretty good prices. Credits can also be won in a competition called "Magic Monday" which gives habbo users the option to enter and be in for a chance to win 100 habbo Credits.
Some members of the public think Habbo is un-safe, let me tell you about un-safe, most chat rooms do have rules and terms, but some don't. Habbo has a very good safety system. We have rules, terms, moderators (hobbas ) and the habbo staff. We also have power to ban people from the service. Unlike some other chat rooms (http://www.dobedo.com ) which has no safety rules or moderators.
Habbo all in all, is a great enviroment to make friends, swim, drink and eat.
In Faketown you can chat, watch movies, gamble, eat, work, play arcade games, and buy homes for free. Also, there are less limitations on the number of visitors that can enter the town at any given time.
objectively this design fits the concept and goal of site, hence the 7 for presentation.
However, I also find the use of pixelated figures and buildings overdone, so I cannot get enthusiastic about it. Personal taste really.
The reason Habbo looks like it does is because its made in Pixel Art which is Sulakes (the company who literally power habbo) preference art because its easy its quick and it doesnt need alot of data to load.
Habbo had speed in mind and not the latest fancy graphics, it has the odd lighting effects and i will admit getting credits is expensive but the chat room was designed in prefernce for UK TEENS not other countries and if your STILL not satisfied there are other hotels similar to this one:
Kultakala now operates in euro's but im not sure about habbohotel.ch which is designed with different languages and is very international and is backed by Orange who now allow text message credits.
remember IT WAS DESIGNED THIS WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE THAT AND IT LOOKS GOOD!
This outdated design needs a revamp.
Also it's navigation takes a lot of time to get used too. For a community thing it takes way too much time to load.
Habbo hotel has a lot of character and i think the graphics are fine. If they had high resolution virtual reality graphics the chat would be slow and take a long time to load. The credits are only there to keep habbo from going bust and u can still visit all the rooms for free.
um....i think habbo hotel is a great site, although the credits bother me and i think the design could be better because if u think about it they have already invented virtual reality so why on earth can't they use something like that? i think the graphics are quite good but they need a lot of improvement.
I have heard that there is a guy who has managed to hack into habbo hotel and give you credits! However, the best way of getting them would be through earning them for text messages.
If this option was made available on more networks, then this could be a winner, and probably quite popular with the phone networks.
Cute graphics and furniture really give a good vibe about the place, since it takes the concept of a chat room and makes it into a real room!
Needs more actions for your habbo as well as outfits.
Would be great if all the options were occasionaly updated.
Oh yeah, finally there are a large number of gangs in the hotel, yet they cannot touch each other, so why bother???
Habbo Hotel is a great site and it is one of the best things i have found on the net But however .......About the credits....I reckon its not fair for people like us as we live in new zealand/australia on the other side of the world and it cost us a fortune to buy credits it was going to cost me 30 new zealand dollars just to get 25 credits (2.50 pounds UK)so that definately put me off buying em Habbo should either lower their prices of credits or you should start off with some or habbo should give out some credits to people where i live only just a few so we could experience the diving board in habbo lido or own our very own room with furniture in it.
I think this site is really good. I have recently been banned though and i dont understand why. I have been waiting for a whole week and i am still not off of the ban. I have written about 5 emails to the habbo hotel managers or whatever they're called. I think this site's pretty good except i can never get in Habbo Lido or Habbo Lido II. It definitely needs more clothes. They should make overalls. So like when u can choose your pants just click until you get to the overalls then choose the color of the overalls and you can still choose the shirt and shoes underneath. It would be cute. It needs more colors though. Like make red pants and stuff. And for the girls you need to make a baseball cap with hair so it doesnt look like they have leukemia or something. I personally think habbos are cuter from the front and when you click on them and their little mission and body shows up i think you should show them from the front. It looks a ton better b/c if you are a female and wearing one of those snow caps you cant really tell youre a girl unless you look at them from the front so's u can see their eyelashes. Overall its a pretty good site.
this place is fairly cool except the problem of not being able to get free credits and if you live in us and canada you can't actually get credits and people are too mean to give away credits. i think it needs a bit more clothing.
habbo hotel is the best thing on the web i love the little habbos u can make and the jobs u can get i love it i hope more things like habbo hotel are created!!!
Habbo hotel is great but u have 2 pay 4 cred and that stinks
if u could earn it by working on habbo hotel (which u can but 4 free) it will b better or bring the prices DOWn they r 2 steep.
I would just like to say that habbo rocks and I am over all impressed the design is funky and the more new rooms they add the better thinks are going 2 be (plus when they have worked out the Mac problem we will all be happy). Keep it up guys.
Habbo Hotel combines the features of three-dimensional indoor environments with your average, everyday chatroom. When you sign up for Habbo Hotel, you're given the opportunity to create what's called a "Habbo", the Habbo being your personal representation. You can alter this representation in any way you choose, ranging from clothing, skin color, hair color, gender, and shoes.
When you've created your Habbo, you may then start looking for other people to talk with in private rooms, such as a coffeeshop, the main Lobby, a game hall, as well as several game rooms like Battleship, Chess, Noughts & Crosses, and Poker. There are, of course, other public rooms, and then there are private rooms. When a user feels like it, he/she may enter the Lobby, click on one of four room consoles in the Easternmost corner, and then proceed to create his/her own private Hotel room.
You may furnish your room with digital furniture that Habbo LTD provides you with, but you must buy Habbo credits in order to purchase this furniture. Five credits cost 0.38£. Users in the UK that are signed up for the Vodaphone service earn credits each time they send an SMS text message on their Vodaphone. Users in the US are not able to buy credits unless they find a user who will buy them for them. It's customary to use PayPal to do this.
One bad thing about Habbo Hotel is that there are users who like to steal furniture from people in trades. A person may come to your room asking you to trade them something. They may demand that you give them your item first, then they leave once you do. Trade furniture ONLY with people you trust... Or else it's 0.38£ down the toilet. All-in-all, the Habbo Hotel service is fun for people who like to chat with folks from around the world in a form other than some dull IRC format.
