Designer's words:
The design concept was chosen as a balance of several concerns. Most of all, we wanted a visually-appealing site without a lot of bandwidth-intensive graphics. We chose a relatively simple banner and side bar concept to enable language-independent labels as we plan to launch multi-lingual versions of our site in the near future.

Our comments:
Crisp design with a compelling combination of the colors blue and orange; beautiful front page with the right mix of text and images.
