Since its foundation in 1996, the company has been looking for innovative gameplay. Blending RPG and RTS led to the success of Rage of Mages series. Evil Islands, released in 2000, continues the tradition of genre mix, adding tactical covert operations to RPG in full 3D environment. Not unexpectedly, the newest and most twisted Nival's creation features a sizzling combination of turn-based strategy and trading card games. It is going to be released in 2001 under the name Etherlords.
